In today's blog we'll go over how to imitate a bronze wall.
Materials
- Water
- Painter's Tape
- Base Color Eggshell Latex Paint
- Metallic Glaze
- 3 Different Color Eggshell Latex Paint
Tools
- Sea Sponges
- Paint Roller
- Drop Cloth
Preparation
Prep the room; Apply painter's tape all around the edges of the walls. Spread the drop cloth on the floor. Apply the first coat of eggshell latex paint. Make sure the color is in the same family of colors as the top coat.
Mix and Apply Glazes
Make 3 different mixtures with each different top coat; Mix one part base latex paint with 3 parts top coat, then mix the latex-glaze mixture with ¼ part metallic glaze and ½ part water.
Apply glazes generously in a random pattern, using a small roller in sections (First Image).
Before glazes dry, blend them with a sea sponge (Second Image).
Add Final Glaze
After wall dries, apply a small amount of bronze metallic glaze to sea sponge and rub over wall.
Viola!
Enjoy your walls! (Finished result on top)
