Materials
- Cement Board
- Cement Board Screws
- Mesh Tape
- Radiant Heating Mat
Take up Existing floor
Take up the existing floor so you have full access to the subfloor
Install Cement Board
Cover the subfloor with cement board, attaching it to the joists with screws. Tape the seams with mesh tape designed for use with cement board.
Roll Out the Radiant Heating Mat
Decide where and how the mat will receive power. Be sure to not cut the red wire; that's where the electricity flows through.
Start rolling out the mat, pressing the sticky side to the floor. To get past obstructions, cut through the mesh with scisors and spread the mat apart. To make a turn or start a new row, cut though the mesh and extend the mat.
When complete, re-install the finished floor & enjoy warm feet for years to come.
