Reds
Red is a color commonly associated with passion, romance, love. It is an aggressive color that needs to be used with care. It works really well with grays and other shades, and is complementary with green.
Don't overdo it!
Green
The color of nature. It symbolizes harmony, fertility, and stability. Green contrasts extremely well with red or browns (specifically wooden floors)
Yellow
The major color associated with the sun. Yellow in a space will bring warmth and slightly more joy than other colors.
Contrasts best with purple
Don't go too overboard. With most colors, the right balance is key.
Orange
Orange also brings warmth and joy, without being as aggressive as red. Too dark and more yellow of a shade may remind you of the spookiness of Halloween. Works well with cool colors like green or brown, and complements with teal.
Blue
The color of sky and water; most commonly associated with intelligence, trust, and rest.
Blu works well with purple or green shades, and is complemented by yellow.
Purple
Purple combines the warmth of red and stability of blue. It is a sensitive color which must be used with care. Too deep of a purple can invoke feelings of sadness.
This color works well with pink or blue, and is complementary of yellow.
White
In western culture, white is associated with purity and innocence that typically denotes cleanliness. It is used in hospitals for its neutral or positive effects on mood.
White, like black, is a neutral color. It can be combined with any color and be equally effective.
Black
Black symbolizes power, mystery, and elegance. It is much less commonly used, but is a very nice touch.
Another neutral color; so use this with care.
