Use Clothes Pins to Hang Lights
Using these instead of nails or clips is much easier to hang lights. Save putting holes in you fascia or gutter
Screw the Tree Stand to a Wooden Base
Cut a two-foot diameter circle out of plywood, screw the base to the wood, then staple plastic sheeting to the plywood. The wood won't allow it to tip over, and the plastic keeps your floor dry, and allows you to slide the tree if needed.
Store Artificial Trees in Concrete Form Tubes
Fake trees can be helpful, but take up entirely too much space. Fix that problem by storing them in two 8-inch concrete form tubes, first by wrapping them in twine, and placing each half in each tube.
Use Picnic Tablecloths Clips to Attach Lights
When hanging lights on a rail that's too fat, use picnic tablecloth clips. They're clear so you won't see them at night.
Use Zip-ties to Attach Lights
When a rail is not fat, the easiest and most inexpensive way to hang lights is by using zip-ties.
