Removing Unwanted Concrete Stains

Do you have unwanted concrete stains? Follow these few steps to have your floor looking like new

Shopping List

For small stains, use baby powder or powdered talc. For large stains, use some diatomaceous earth. 

Removing Paint Stains

Add  paint stripper to an absorbent material to make a creamy paste. spread 1/4 to 1/2-inch over the stain, and wait 20 minutes.

Scrape off the paste and loosened paint. Apply a second coat if necessary.

Scrub area with a nylon brush, scouring powder and water to remove particles that are still stuck.

Rinse with water and continue scrubbing to finish cleaning.

Removing Oil and Grease Stains

Pour 1oz trisodium phosphate in a bucket and mix with a cup of water to a creamy paste. 

Spread a 3/8-inch thick layer over the stain, and allow it to try for 24 hours.

Scrape and brush off residue and dispose it.  Then scrub the area with a nylon brush and water. Rinse with a garden hose. Repeat if needed to fully remove the stain.

Remove Rust Stains

Add 1/4th cup of muriatic acid to 2 cups of water in a pan. (Always pour acid into water, not water into acid)

Spread the acid solution over the rusted area, and let it stand for 5 minutes. Reapply as needed, then Rinse with water to flush away all the residue.

Once dry, seal the floor to reduce the chance of future stains & enjoy!
